Hey guys I've been changing my oil and filters for many years my question is I'm going with a synthetic oil and not sure if Yamaha has a oil filter that is good for any synthetic oils or is there a replacement filter that will work on my 2021 sx190 and what is the brand and part number

One OE filter that doesn't matter whether it's Dino or Synthetic.

I just picked up a K&N Premium Oil Filter HP-1002 for my SX190's next oil change.

Planning to use Mobil-1 10W40, though they have some nice 5W50 and 15W50 options - more difficult to get though.
The coolest temps I'll boat in will likely be 70, up to high 90s. Water in the summer itself gets to the low 90s.

Thank you I called yamaha today the said there oil is proprietary and they recommend it for their boats because it's 4w and has anti foaming and anti corrosion that's why the recommend it over regular conventional car engine oils.i don't know enough about oils to step out of the box and find a better oil so I guess since yamaha recommends it and it's affordable and still under warranty I'll stay with the 10w40 yamaha uses

I have a 5 yrs warranty on my motors, there's no way I will deviate or fail to document my maintenance using only OEM recommended parts and products. After 5 years we'll see.

Yamaha offers a lifetime engine warranty if you use their 4w oil change kits. For the slight difference in price, I'll take the lifetime warranty and keep all my receipts.
:D
