Hey, first post here.

Potentially looking at getting an 08 Sx230 HO, which would be my first boat ever!

It has a leak from the oil cooler area, I suspect possibly the O rings to the block.

Is it easy enough to replace them in situ? Or is it an engine out/shuffle the engine back job to get to?

Thanks!!

I’m going to go out on a limb and say yes engine out type of deal. You don’t have much room to work with and you can’t see anything very well. I know on our old AR230 we had snapped bolts from a previous person trying to do whatever they were doing and even missing ones on the back side. It was a pain in the ass just replacing some of the bolts.

Definitely not a simple job, can it be done in the boat? Yes but not with a lot of extra effort and lots of different tools to get in very tight spaces

Cheers, dealer reckons if they disconnect exhaust, they can shift the engine back enough to replace .

My experience is that it is nearly impossible to remove the exhaust manifold in the boat. It is easier just to pull the engine.

I replaced my oil pump which entailed removing the oil tank with the engine in the boat. It wasn’t easy but it can be done.
