Getting the boat ready this weekend. Went to check oil after sitting all winter and both dips don't register. I'm assuming since neither engine has been cranked yet.

First of all is that normal?
I'm assuming I should run both for equal 2-3 minutes with the hose then check. As long as both are equal within limits I'm good.

Secondly - changed oil last season and put 50hrs on. Should I change again?

Not familiar with an'06 but I would think there should be oil showing on the stick. Oil shows on mine after winter. 50 hours, id change it.

That's worrisome

I sometimes don't have anything on the dipstick after sitting for a long time. Start it and check after a minute. If something registers then bring it to operating temp and do a check then.

i believe your engines have to be at operating temperature to get the correct oil reading if i am not mistaken

So last year I did the "only put in what you look out".

This year I ran both engines for about a min. Then extracted. I got about 1 1/2 qts out of 1 and 1 qt out of the other. Replaced oil and filter.

Ran both engines for about 3-5 min and both dips register at the low line.

How many quarts does my 06 210 hold?
My swim deck is level so I assume boat is level on trailer.

Should I run them longer?
I don't want to over fill.

Thanks in advance!

my MR1-ho engines holds 4.5 qt, I usually get 2-2.5 qts out when I change the oil,

My 06 isn't a HO so i think I don't have the MR1's?

you have mr1's, just the non-ho version, I think you should have the same oil capacity but don't quote me on that,

Did you see the oil change instructions in the FAQ? there is a small spot that will let you get the extractor tube another 1/2" further into the oil reservoir to get additional oil out but you have to kind of poke around until you figure out where it is,

You've probably already moved on, but this is normal. I've found a range of about 1/2 q (perhaps a little more) on the dipstick in-between L and H (safe range) warmed up on water. When just above L mark checking correctly the oil may just barely touch (if at all) the dipstick sitting on the trailer. The oil light will come on pretty much instantly if there is not enough oil. Mine flashes when changing the oil and filter for a brief second.
