End of first season, time to buy one. Any recomendations?

I tried an electric one and it was a pain in the tail. The manual one has never given me any trouble. I made the mistake of buying a small manual extractor which requires me to drain the extractor between engines. When I have to replace my small unit I will buy a large extractor like this one at West Marine, http://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-marine--manual-oil-extractor-6-5l--11047123 which will allow me to extract oil from both engines before draining the extractor.

I have that exact extractor and have used it every year at oil change time. Holds enough for both engines, flawless every time so far. Highly recommended.

I have that same extractor. Been using it for 5 seasons with no problems.

My electric died after 2 years. I've been using the manual since. I miss my electric pump

Manual. It ain't that difficult

I had a small (single engine) manual pela for a few years, as well as a cheap electric, electric was faster but more "finicky". I just got a large electric from west Marine and hope it lives up to the reviews I've read about it.

Make sure to get the right size...

(sorry...)

I bought a 12 volt pump. It started smoking after about 30 seconds of usage. I had waited too long to try it to be able to return it.

I bought a manual vacuum pump in a West Marine sale. It works great. The amount of pumping is minimal.

Here is what I use, http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200623859_200623859 (I have older unit it was red years ago)

Pneumatic is the only way to go! I run with with my 80 gallon Qunicy compressor which is a BEAST compressor.

I have 2 Yamaha FXHO's as well plus my AR230, so that's 4 MR-1 engines, plus I work on all my familys vehicles, even oil changes so the large storage is nice. This unit was easily worth the cost and its held up for years its just a little slow to extract but not bad, just keep it out of sun and cold weather other wise it will crack the hose

and I converted this into a brake bleeder, bleed the brakes on my trailer, truck, clutch on my M6 Camaro with it, works awesome this unit uses so little air and is so quite you can hear the fluid hitting the bottom of the fluid catch, ah yes again the power of pneumatics' (I have older unit it was red years ago)

While the MityVac has become the "standard" of the industry (and the West Marine unit IS a MityVac, Model 7400) - here is their Top Of The Line Model MIT7201, and for virtually $10 less than Amazon.

Free shipping AND NO state sales tax (except for the state of AZ).
