Some friends and I are looking to take a trip to Lake Okoboji for a weekend. I've searched and found next to nothing about the lake. Im wondering for those who may have been there if you could recommend a place to stay that has a boat slip with 110V to charge batteries or a place to stay that has 110v access in the parking lot.

I live in okoboji. Your best bet is bridges bay resort. It’s a new resort and has several eating places onsite. If you want further information let me know. It’s a Great Lake that gets crazy in the summer months. It’s a huge tourist stop in Iowa so you need to book your vacation well in advance.

I've heard it's an amazing place to visit.

If a person looks at the satellite view in Google Maps, the density of docks/lifts along the shoreline of all the lakes in that group is incredible. I can imagine the boat traffic is horrendous.

Fun to experience once I bet.

Right, it is daunting to try to find a place to stay based on the satellite image. I called Bridges bay and they had no 110v in the lot, they do have slips available for 100$/night though.. It would be ideal to find a place that had power out in the lot but it seems that a lot of the places don't have lots big enough for a boat/trailer to fit in lol. I live off the Missouri River so its only a 3hr drive for me to get there and I would love to take my new boat out there!

Any RV parks nearby? I know the casino in Emmetburg, charges $25/night for an RV spot with 110 or 220 with breakfast in the lobby. But that's 44 miles to the SE.

I guess it's all about how badly you need power. For the cost of a couple nights of power, you could easily justify a dual battery setup in your boat. Or a spare fully charged battery. (pull a battery and charge it in a hotel room, HA!!)

I have a pretty healthy stereo setup in our boat, and I can't say that I could not make it a full weekend without plugging it in.

There are literally 20 plus resorts in the area. Arrowood is another decent resort and their lot is easily large enough for a boat. In fact you always see boats in the lot. They do not have slips available there. I am not sure what your concern is. I run my boat for weeks with out worrying about the batteries. Worse case you can park your boat in my driveway for all the free power you want

I was mainly concerned about having power to charge the stereo batteries, I have a pair of Rev10 tower speakers/W.S Sinister 1200W amp and figured I would run the head unit and boat speakers from the same batteries so I'm not sure if the boat will go 30 hours without a charge on 2 dedicated batteries or if I should look into just adding a third. I am going to try to figure out the math tonight after work I suppose
