Some owners have added valves to the cooling water intake lines (accessible from the engine compartment). Closing these valves allows you to tow the boat above no-wake speed without forcing water up into the cylinders.

As was pointed out, it also improves flow while flushing on the hose and allows you to flush with fresh water with the boat sitting in salt water.

I just have a couple of hose-clamp pliers in my tool kit, but I've considered this mod from time to time...
 
I got the OLD part down. Still trying to fix the other part. :confused:
