Both boats are 2019’s. The AR240 has 24hrs on it and priced at 44.5K. The 242E has 12hrs and priced at 65K. I know the E has everything on it compared to the AR but would it be worth over 20K more? Seems like I could upgrade the stereo, add a Ridesteady and a Raymarine 7” chart and be further ahead. Thoughts?

Seems like a huge difference to me. Are they the same engines?

We went with the e-series new because of the huge Bimini. It’s twice the size of the AR, and not something you can add aftermarket, would have to buy a new tower, Bimini frame, etc...

That aside, 65k for that boat is overpriced. I paid less than thy for the same boat brand new from the dealer last year... Look up the thread where the user sharkbait was selling his 19 242E, less than 65K!

Nothing against the 242 and I looked at the same thing when buying new. In the end I went with the AR240 with the idea that with about $6-7000 of investments and my own work I would save myself $20,000 off list. So that is what I did.

I love my 242 Limited SE......paid the extra for all the amenities, and LOVE the huge bimini! However, 65K is WAY to much money for a 4 yr old boat. Thats what I paid new!

The e-throttles really are awesome, too!! A buddy of mine and I drive each other’s boats a lot over the summer for surf sessions. It always takes a minute to get the feel for the throttles (for both of us) as we switch boats.
