8 years and finally found a rock. Looks like I have some repair to do. Thoughts??

sad for you, i would get it repair fast a good gelcoat job
 
Since it below the waterline it probably won't be too bad to fix enough that it won't be noticeable. Get a black gel coat repair kit. Sand down the area around the paint. Follow instructions for the gelcoat repair. If you can't access a sprayer you can use a small foam roller to apply the paint. Apply a couple of coats of paint and buff it with a buffer and then put a few coats of wax to protect the area.
