Hi Everyone, I searched and searched but couldn't find anything specific to what I am looking for. We are about to put our 212 Limited S in a boat slip on a lift. Up to this point Ive had the boat in dry covered storage and just used the shipping cover as I very really needed anything else. Now I am concerned that won't work since the boat will be on a lift when we are putting the cover on and the tower will probably be left up.

Does anyone know where I can get one of those covers that goes completely over the tower as well? I'm thinking this might be the best option when keeping the boat on the lift.

I'm sure I can find something online but I wanted to see if anyone had any luck for a Yamaha first.

Thanks for the help!

I purchased the bow and cockpit snap covers from Yamaha and absolutely love them since we too are on a lift. I hadn’t looked at an over the tower cover, but it too may be difficult to install while on a lift. I’m thinking about calling an upholstery shop to make a custom tower cover similar to the cover that comes with the bimini for my AR190. Something that will wrap around the tower and zip up. Just wanted to throw that out there as an option as well.

The OEM Premium Mooring Cover (which does not drape over the tower) or preferably the two part snap-in cover for an on lift situation.

A one piece cover such as you’ve illustrated would be a beast to deal with:
-getting this big bundle from the dock inside the boat
-lashing a one-piece over the tower with little access from the front, back or sides
-securing the over the tower cover for high winds and rain (a lot of surface area and windage)

My neighbor has a cover such as the one you illustrated ... it is a total PITA, so he rarely uses it. I had the two part snap-in on my 08 and loved the light weight and ease of use. I have the Premium Mooring Cover on my 13 and other than the mass it’s pretty decent.

Don’t have a jet anymore. But I have an over the tower cover for my worldcat the biggest headache putting that thing on. Had a snap on cover bow and cockpit made much happier.

I have a 2018 212 Limited S, I don’t believe I have the option for a snap in cover.... sounds like the Yamaha mooring might be my best option, then try to individually over the tower itself separately. I don’t know!

You'll have to have it custom made. I had one made for my SX 240 that was on a lift at the Marina. Any good boat upholstery shop can make it. My advice is don't skimp on the quality of Sunbrella fabric you use. They will give you a good, better, best option. I would go with the best fabric if you plan to keep the boat more than 7 years. It will be expensive. Probably around $1,500 I would guess.

how difficult was it to take off and put on. The above comment make sense as it would likely be a massive heavy cover.

Thanks for sharing!

I’ve been using the Yamaha premium cover with hangtyte’s for the last year and a half. It takes me about 4 minutes to put it on. I added two stainless 3” snap hooks to the back so it’s easier to hook the back. You just roll it down the center of the boat with the windshield open then start from the front to the back. When I pull in I only hook two lines to the boat. While I put the cover on my wife attaches the lines to the cleats.

Do you do anything to cover your tower or speakers?

No I don’t have speakers on it and I have a roof over my slip. Aren’t the new towers powder coated? They shouldn’t rust.

Biggest thing the tower cover stops is all the dust and spiders. Wasn't that hard. You just start at the bow and roll it over from front to back, and do the opposite when you take it off.

My tower is powered coated but that wont stop birds and spiders from making a mess :)

Seems like I will have to have something custom done. What measurements did you provide them?

Take it to them and drop it off. Pick up a week later usually

Is your lifted covered? Then why worry about your boat being covered under another cover? Maybe I'm missing what you are describing. I just got a covered boat lift and I don't but the old boat cover on the boat anymore.
