Overheating Issue- 2009 Yamaha 212

Trying to help my buddy figure out an overheating issue with his 09 Yamaha 212. Over the past few days when running at faster speeds, he occasionally gets the temperature lights coming on and flashing for both motors. There is water coming out of all four pee holes at a steady stream, however the front two are warm to the touch and the rear two are hot to the touch. I don't see any sign of any water leaking from any of the cooling lines around either motor, however both garden hose inlets on the deck are leaking water at a pretty steady stream, causing warm water to pool up in the engine compartment. Would this be enough to cause the over heating issue, or should I be looking at the thermostats or something else? Seems odd that both thermostats would be bad, so I'm thinking that it has to be the hose inlets as they are both leaking. Thanks in advance.

I know almost nothing about the cooling system on an '09.

But I would be very surprised if the inlets caused overheating. Unless they are leaking serious amounts of water, I would not think it would have a big enough effect to cause an overheating situation. Especially if all the pee holes are going--that tells that water is getting through the system.

The water that is leaking at the hose connection should not leak into the engine bay. It will flow to the deck and go out the scupper. Check the engine bay for leaks on hoses while the engines are running. Usually guys will have clamps go bad on the exhaust pipes. Also view this video for a greater understanding of what you are dealing with. Your buddy has the exact same engine.

That is very odd since each engine is supplied cooling water from their individual jet pumps, do a non contact thermometer reading on the engines and exhaust systems they could have bad heat sensors on the exhaust systems it is just strange that both are doing it. Or he is sucking in sand in both pumps and clogging up the cooling lines
