I have a 2012 Yamaha 212ss jet boat that I use in saltwater. I bought it this May and it has been working fine. Recently the starboard engine overheating alarm has gone off. I checked the pissers and they seem fine. I took it in to a yamaha dealer they checked it over and did not find anything wrong but said this happened to another customer and to just "don't go full speed and you will be fine"- I don't think that is the answer!

Now I put the boat back in and under a minute and the alarm goes off when I am in wake mode. THis constantly is happening now on a cool engine.
Could it be a bad thermo sensor?
Are their any diagrams to see where the sensor is?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

glad to have you on board,

What a useless dealer, I hope you never go back to them again, what a crappy answer,

We have had reports of sensors being faulty, I don't have your model so I can't answer where they are, at least on the engine and the exhaust,

do you have a YDS unit so you can see the engine temps in real time?
you may also use a infrared thermometer to compare you're good engine to the problem one for any temp difference,

if you haven't watched this video it's a good one on cooling,
