Those who live in sunny cities, do you keep the Bimini opened to reduce the heat in console area (of course with the cover on) or exposing the Bimini to direct sun light for a long time will damage it?

I just use the cover and keep the bimini down with its cover on. I have crawled in the boat on a hot day with the cover on, and while it is pretty damn warm, I feel the vents keep it fairly reasonable. It is no where as hot as a car interior.

Parking or storing? If it's long term (a month or more) and you have control over the area, a pole carport is an awesome investment.
