Dear Jet boat gurus ,
I have a 2015 242 limited S. While setting up my dual batteries, I had a short which blew the fuse on the back near the firewall. I replaced the fuse. The starboard engine starts perfectly, but the port won’t crank, any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Ouch! my first thought after fuses were replaced I would lean towards the Starter relays.............a hard short could damage them at the time the fuse blew. Sence I not sure of the equipment a second batt might have on your set up ........I also would lean towards the switch it self...........I would check if voltage(meter) from the switch is making it to the starter relay ......voltage has got to come up to the relay to close relay allowing voltage to the starter solenoid.

I would first check to see if voltage from switch is going to relay and if so the switch looks good............then you could swap good relay from the starting engine to see if the engine turns over. Thats the good thing of having 2 engines part swaps are possible to find failed parts.

That is a great suggestion, where is the relay located?

Can you describe your short for us, too? Was this one of the 'hit the other side with the wrench' or did you have it miswired and turn it on?

I fixed it , I didn’t realize there was two sets of ignition fuses, one for each engine on the back wall of the engine compartment

there is a lot of sound proofing in the engine compartment which hid the other fuse bank. When I saw it there was a bit of a “no duhh” moment.
