So at the end of the summer I started to notice that on one of my motors/impellers, had a lot of vibration when engaging in reverse. Typically I noticed when throwing into reverse to abruptly slow/stop and would get loud vibration and little reverse power. Am I experiencing cavitation from a worn impeller?? Any help will be appreciated.. Thanks

Do you have any issues other than in reverse?

The impeller is spinning the same direction when both in forward and reverse. When in reverse, the bucket just redirects the water forward instead of out the back. The redirected water is very turbulent and will not flow through the pump as smoothly as undisturbed water.

If you don't have any problems other than when in reverse, I would say your boat is just taking in the turbulent water from the reverse bucket and what you are experiencing is normal.

Agreed with above.
I pull my pump apart every spring and every fall to check everything out anyways. Each pump takes like 10 minutes to pull apart and inspect.
