I would appreciate some help here. I have been reading and saving all of the ideas for over a year now, and am ready, with Miss Barbie's assistance, to tackle making our "closet" a little more user friendly.

My only question is this: In a "recent" (2012, 2012, 2013) 242 Ltd S, do y'all screw directly into the wall boards ? And if so, what length screw is MAXIMUM ? 3/8" ???

Or ........ So you REMOVE the all boards first ?

Many Thanks, Mike Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA

I used about 1/2" penetration into the aft and forward walls. Nothing into the shelf or hull side. I used 1/2" PVC plywood (sheet material) and had to add aluminum angle on the upper piece to keep it from sagging. I fashioned brackets to mechanically fasten to the shelves and the shelves to the wall. My head compartment is the same as yours I believe.

The forward and aft walls are 1/2" plywood. So you should limit the screws to that length or 5/8' to be safe. I would not screw anything into the side walls. Depending on what you are planning on installing you may be able to use the screws (covered by white caps) that are already there which may eliminate the need to use additional screws and drill holes for them at all.

Thank y'all so very much !
Best Wishes, Mikey
