Question in regards to check engine light for camshaft position sensor

Out on the boat today and got the 2 - 4 flashing signal from the check engine light, so it's telling me it needs a camshaft position sensor.

Went ahead and ordered it, but here is my question:

Boat ran fine with this code - would I be ok to use this boat this weekend for a trip to the lake while I am waiting for the part to get here? Curious if anyone had thoughts or experience with this.
