We are planning on heading to Rayon lake July 2-5th. Looking for recommendations on places to check out. Where are the best places on the lake to get to by boat and what's recommended on land also?

I am by no means an expert on Raystown but you need to go check out the views from the overlook. It's on the dam side. The hike wasn't terrible. We were going to do the thousand steps but somebody in our group was a party pooper.

We didn't take our boat but plan to this year. There isn't much on the water. There is a decent beach by the seven points marina.

Do you mtn bike? Some of the best trails on the east coast there.

Keep in mind that you have to drive to get to anything. It isn't all centrally located like deep creek.

Penns Cave was pretty neat. It's an hour ish north of raystown. It's a cavern that you tour by boat. They also have a wildlife sanctuary tour.
