I've noticed this more lately because of the work I did replacing an intermediate bearing and laying on top of the motor becoming more familiar with the back end of it ;). There is very light oil spray on the hull under the bell (stator) housing and coupling at the back the motor. It's happening on both motors but slightly more on my port. When I reach under and touch the bottom of the bell housing, I get oil on my fingers.
Any one else notice this?

Last time I changed my oil I noticed very small droplets of "splatter" oil beneath the port motor. I just assumed that it was "shake off" from getting oil on the motor when I changed the oil filter. I wiped it clean, but will recheck it now that you mentioned it.

I haven’t but the bilge is a little oily but I figured that was normal. I’m going to check.

Why did you have to charge the intermediate bearing?

Thx. I scanned through the thread. Big job. Sure looks like premature failure. Yamaha wouldn’t do anything?
