I know there are similar discussions out there but I haven't seen what i'm looking for. I'm looking into getting a new or fairly new jetboat and I'm thinking to offset the cost of it by renting it out. Does anyone have experience renting in south florida, and if so, what is the demand? I'm also curious to hear about any damage or other issues people have experienced in relation to renting.

I wouldnt try renting a jet boat. My buddy has a marina and they rent pontoons and those get trashed pretty frequently. A jetboat is much trickier to captain, you're setting yourself up for problems IMO.

unless he rigs it up with steering assist mods. I for one would love to rent a jet boat on a vacation

@B0at1n rents his, he's done very well as he's very kindly sharing his experience.
The Lake Mead marina rents 190s, those are great there because of shallow water and no props to hurt on the rocks. But of course, just like with the jetski and anything rental there is always damage.

Thanks for the responses. I may be able to screen people or at least do check rides to make sure they are capable of piloting the boat. I'll reach out to @B0at1n to learn more about his experience.
