Repairing rip/tear in snap cover

Another thing from yesterday -

As I was putting the snap-on cover back on the boat, I noticed that on the bow cover, right were the snaps invert and attach to the bottom of the middle windshield section, there was a tear in the fabric on the port side, right where the main part of the cover meets the edging. The Admiral and I were discussing repair options, and given the backlog of everything else boat-related, I'm disinclined to reach out to a canvas shop knowing that it may be weeks before we see the cover again.

Has anyone undertaken their own repair efforts? Any advise before attempting this on our own?

I've used this on multiple covers before and it works great! On my old Yamaha mooring cover it had a tear at the rear corner, tears around the tower points and a hole that had wore through from the rubber bump-stop on the windshield. Made repairs with this kit, trailered 1/2 the season and even took it on a 8hr drive up to MI and back with no issues. Here's a few pics that I could find of the patches. I'm sure if you wanted to buy matching colored canvas and just buy the glue but I'm to the point that it just needs to work, not look pretty, plus it was what I sourced locally at the time.
