Has anyone found a replacement bilge pump that has an internal float switch and fits in the same location? I would like to eventually add a second pump but for now need something quick and easy before it sits in the water for a few days. I don't mind leaving the battery switch on as long as the pump isn't cycling like the existing OEM pump.

I would think there has to be a pump with a similar footprint whose auto feature is anything other than the 2-3 min power cycle that measures resistance.

2017 Yamaha 242X

THANKS!

Sorry, I don’t. I solved my problem with the cycling issue by adding a second pump with a float switch and wiring it directly to the battery (with a fuse)

I replaced my automatic pump with this one:
Amazon.com : Rule 800 GPH Submersible Bilge Pump, Round : Sports & Outdoors

and added this switch:
Amazon.com: Johnson Pump 3001.3633 Ultima Bilge Pump Switch 20AMP: Automotive

The pump snapped right in to the existing strainer. I attached the switch right to the side of the pump with wire ties and silicone and wired it in (not hard, instructions are good). The switch has no moving parts so it won't stick. With my dash switch off, the pump will only run when the switch activates it. If I put the dash switch on, the pump will run until it turn it off. No automatic cycling. It's a much higher gpm pump than my original which is nice too. I've never had a problem leaving it in the slip with this setup. Was an easy changeover too. Try to get a pump that matches the size of the one you have and it should snap right in like mine did. Make sure it's a "manual" lump.
