I tried posting an issue last Fall and noone could figure it out. Apparently I am the 1st with the problem. My 2014 212x depth finder function/depth alarm and water temp functions are missing from the LCD display. They simply arent there. I do not want to bring it in to the dealer because of the time I'd be down without the boat. When I described to them the problem the mechanic felt like the problem would not be the transducer but more a computer problem. All cables seem to be hooked behind helm...

Only weird thing I can think of is that I believe the previous owner drained the battery on an occasion or 2 because he left the battery switch on for a period of time and over maybe a long period of not using the boat the battery drained. Maybe messed up electronics...

Anyhow the display simply skips over the depth function and moves to voltage meter. Is there a way to reset the entire multi function display? Back to factory? Thanks.

Hmmmm. Not sure.
Boat comes home next Saturday. If I had it home now - id go outside and see what I can find.

Thanks if you get a chance. You would think there was a way to reset the whole thing. Of course Yamaha does not provide any assistance. They don't understand what a pain it is to take a boat in for service or how long it takes. But they insist on only having their dealers call them when there is a service issue that is perplexing...

Sorry thegrapeguy, I can't help either. But please remember to post back once you figure it out.

Lightning strike?

Sorry, that is all I got. But I would be interested as well.

After a winter of having the battery disconnected the tach emerges with still no depth or water temp functions. Toggles right over each readout to the next. i.e. - depth toggles right over to VGA (voltage). Because I dont want to pull boat out of water for an extended time I will live with again this year. It's sad Yamaha has no customer support or direct line to technical help. You must go through dealer and to go through dealer you are without your boat for a period of time.

I have a 2011 sx240 with the same issue. Have you figured anything out about it?

If you disconnect the transducer, do you get an error?

Probably easier to find the one on the transducer, though harder to get to...

I still have the problem. Anyone know where the transducer on the 2014 212X is so I can try to disconnect it? THX...

Look underneath the hull for a black 2.5" circle near the midline, probably about 2' back from the aft of the boat. That is where mine is. Yours might be a different spot, but it should be easy to find looking underneath. Then you need to find the topside part of that... Usually requires opening that hatch by the cleanout ports.

I have a 2013 212x. Remove the cleanout hatch tray. The big one, not just the small one in the middle. The transducer is directly under the resonator for the port motor, which is directly in the middle of the opening you created by removing the tray. You may or may not be able to reach it without removing the resonator. I was just in there for my ballast project, so I know it's there.

My is 212X and I think my LCD have moisture its hard to read, i can toggle but i can not seen well, i order a new gouge from boats.net
the cost is 214 dollars., i don't think depth, water temp, gas, lat long is the issue with the transducer.

Make sure the LCD is set for the proper CONTRAST setting its POSSABLE THE CONTRAST SETTING got set to 0 somehow or a dead battery somehow set it to factory 0...............this setting would make the data disappear.........just a thought before new gauge gets purchased. Its also possable of a bad ground on those functions a ground wire loss on those would not effect all function .

Let me check my wire diagram book tomorrow to see if multiple grounds are evolved or if its a single ground for all function.

I cal everywhere and Yamaha discontinue the parts, So did anyone know where is a yamaha broken/total/Junk yard.......
I believed the tach are the same from 2010-2014
