I am thinking I am probably doing it wrong, but I want to set it for 20mph for tubing for example and just push the throttle all the way full.

but if I do that it goes way past 20mph to like 24mph before it can slow the boat down to the correct rpm.

what do I need to set the overshoot and response too for this to work?

or better yet what does overshoot control?

and what does response control?

any help is appreciated,

In your case you'll want to increase "OVERSHOOT". OVERSHOOT is a fixed throttle reduction that executes when the speed control becomes active (as it approaches the set speed). Because you're pushing the throttles full forward, you'll want to increase OVERSHOOT to give you more throttle reduction to avoid as much overshoot.

RESPONSE sets the aggressiveness of the control system. You can try increasing it if you want to bring the speed down faster, but I'd try OVERSHOOT first.
