Hey everyone. How do I know what the right size lettering for registration on my boat is? It’s a 19.5 footer. Looks like most are 3 inches in height as that is the minimum requirement in FL, but I’m wondering what would be the right size for my boat? I’ve done some research but haven’t found anything concrete. I don’t want the letters to look to big, or too small. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Just go with the minimum, 3" looks fine on our boats. The length dictates itself based on the font.

This is 3” on a 24’ boat

Forgot to mention, not rly worried about the 3” height, but more about the length

Registration lettering requirements depend on the individual state.

Make sure that its a contrasting color to the hull. FWC and USCG love to hassel people about not being able to clearly read your FL #'s from a distance. And don't forget to leave a letters space after FL and again after the 4 numerals as shown in the link....

3” for that boat, I used 3” on my Ar230 and the 19’ Whaler. I use 3 1/2” on my 35’ Bene.
