I realized this weekend that the rocker switches on my 2014 242 Limited S are not illuminated which made them difficult to see while cruising at night. If I turned on my tower lights to read them it made it difficult to see in front of the boat. I was wondering if anyone has replaced their switches to an illuminated switch and which ones they used? I would have thought Yamaha would have used illuminated switches during installation but guess I was wrong.

I would like to find a set that matches my current set just that are illuminated. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to remove the switch face and replace the bulb.

If you want to replace the switches they are Carling sealed switches and can be found almost anywhere online for a lot less they from a Yamaha store.

Also if all you switch lights are out I wonder if you have a wiring problem, ground failure or power supply issue. Hard to image all your switches would go out at the same time.

Just memorize them. If you are cruising at night the only one you need to know where it is is the horn and possibly the docking lights.

I live on the lake and one of the best outings that all our friends love is the night cruise. When I cruise at night the nav lights are on so the switch is illuminated, the bilge is on so it is illuminated and the cabin lights are on and it is illuminated. That leaves the horn, docking lights and transom shower switches and nobody is using the shower while underway at night so I just have to remember the horn.

I do keep a LED spotlight right next to me just in case. I also give 1 or 2 of the kids (10 yo or up) a floodlight to hold in case I need them to shine it on something. I think they love the responsibility and they don't take it lightly.

@tocelli ... I used these folks when I replaced my switch covers...http://www.pacergroup.net/... They carry replacement switches and just the covers. Good people to work with too.
