Jet Boaters,

I have a 93 Grayling with a 351 ford and 3 stage kodiak. I definitely have some newbie questions but have done a fair bit of searching and can't find recent discussions on these topics.

First very basic. Can I clear the sand trap by this lever in the picture below while the motor is running?

Second, I was out running some shallows on the Chena River and came to a stop in a deeper spot. I idled in forward drive for about 15 minutes to let my son make some casts then when I went to get on step the motor would hit 3k rpm and just rev up with no thrust. I reduced to idle again. After 3 attempts to no avail I slowly advanced the throttle and got on step then had no more issues. About 5 mins later I heard a knock (I assume a river rock clearing) and I didn't have any issues rapidly getting on step. Is this due to a jammed impeller or something with the impeller shaft?

Finally, Any tips on post trip maintenance to keep her running fresh?
