scam?

When you have to ask it’s usually a good indicator it doesn’t pass the smell test.

Complete BS. As mentioned above. No trim tabs in sight. 24' LOA on a 21' boat. Bravo outdrive...LMAO. New wheels and tires? What I see is not new and the rims do not match. And it has an issue with the bearing buddies. All that, and "heavy duty" spell SCAM!

I don't understand this kind of scam. Are the perpetrators trying to meet the seller and rob them or think the seller is going to send them the money over the phone?

Fake check scam, for higher than asking price. They ask you to pay the overage to the shipper. There is no shipper, no buyer and no legit check. Check bounces in 10 days and you are out the money you paid the shipper with "their" funds.

EDIT: As the OP hinted it totally smells and feels like a scam. I only meant to answer on how these scams work as was asked by Sean R. For how many other scams work, this might be useful:

Just to clarify, This was was for amusement purposes. I hoped the winking smilely face would give the hint.

c'mon be honest...... You wired him the money didn't you :)

I know someone that worked at a western union. He told me that people get scammed more than you'd think. "Ma'am, this is a scam. Please don't send him any money"
"But he's a nigerian prince, why would he lie to me?!"

It seems that the author of the ad himself does not understand what he is writing

When the first two words of the description are 'Bravo Outdrive' you just can't help but laugh! :D

I understand the ads themselves are used to filter the quality of the victims. A nonsensical and poorly written ad may only get calls from people already willing to ignore certain red flags in these situations. Like a pre-screening of sorts.

Dual shower??? on a 21 ft?? What is a one button exhaust? "fresh interior" ?? LOL

It would be interesting to call them and ask a few questions to see how they respond...

I deal with scam victims often and thought this one was was pretty funny knowing about Yamaha jet boats. Ive had people that purchased over 10k in apple gift cards and sent the codes to people that had called them claiming their microsoft license expired. Also had someone who sent 70k in cash by fed ex because he was told he was going to be arrested for owing taxes and then sent another 10k when they called him and said he was scammed and had to send 10k more for them to send the money back.

One scam that I got caught up in over a decade ago involved me selling a car on eBay. They guy paid $750 of the $2,500 orice via PayPal and told me he would pay me the rest when he picked up the car. Fast forward a week, I had already spent the $750 and got an email from PayPal saying the account was opened fraudulently, which made my account -$750. I couldn’t use the bay or PayPal until I paid the money back. If I would have sold the car for $750 or less I would have lost the car. On e saving grace was that PayPal limited spend on a new account to $750.

Are you really going to turn down that sweet 4 blade Stainless Steep prop? You'd be the BEST looking jetboat out there on the water with a SS prop.
