Hi,

Im looking at a used 2018 195 open, 250hp. Only 46 hours on the engine. Are there any issues I should be aware with this model? I like the center console but also know they stopped making them, is it just preference or was there a problem with them? I’d be upgrading from an 18’ I/O, 2014 Rinker Captiva, just want to make sure it’s worth the extra money. I like the idea of a jet boat to use for cruising with the family and water sports.

Any advice would be helpful!

Thanks,
Ian

Hi,

I just responded to someone else with pretty much the same stuff funny enough. But nothing in particular no. Presumably the sale numbers were too low in that size category. No issues with the concept of a center console otherwise if that's the right boat for you. Many were dissapointed when they stopped making them in that size range.

Make sure you're well versed in jet boat world if you have little to no experience. I love them personally for my use cases, but everyone's waters and use cases are different. There have been many disappointed jet boat owners because they didn't research enough first.

Since these engines use identical engines and systems to Sea-Doo, you can easily research the dos and don'ts, what to look for, issues, etc. The engine will be a Rotax 1503 with an external intercooler along with a supercharger to give you 250HP.

I could write a book on advice... lol. Instead, if you have any questions as you learn, feel free to post them here or PM me directly. Happy to answer.

You can also learn a lot before buying but frankly, it's a MUST read if you do buy it:
