5200?

When I installed mine, I got a stock thru-hull fitting, stock bilge pump line and put the new pump right by the old one. Didn't need to measure or anything--just drill a hole, next to the existing thru-hull and route the line right next to the existing one. Was really very easy...

You do have the scupper working, right?
Not sure why a pump for self-bailing deck...

Was wondering the same thing? Is there a past experience that led to feeling a need for this pump? would love to know the story

Yamaha boats got swamped en route to Bimini but those events would unlikely be mitigated by an aux bilge pump, loading and throttle control (to keep the bow up) and keeping scupper drain access unobstructed are paramount.

One wave that leaves 500+ gal behind and your wife will wish you had 2 pumps in the cockpit area...also being thats its portable i can use it to pump out the head compartment....and the ski locker.....due to the design of the plug in the ski locker, it wont drain unless i hold the plug otherwise the plug gets sucked back into the hole. I am preparing for Bimini.....

You can never to much pump capacity....i was on a ship that had 16,000 GPH capactiy and we would have sank if the captian hadn't beached the vessel....fyi there is not alot of beach in Alaska.

Or just drive so you don't scoop up waves. It's not like you have a gofast jetboat that sits 1' off the water.

There is so many things wrong with this plan... (I do not think it's very useful to avoid a swamp). It's kind of cute though.

@Chief I did not mean to sound like an ass. Here is my 0.02
What I'm thinking is the placement by the captains chair is so far forward - it would only pump water if it were so high... the best solution is to raise the bow. People swamp these self bailing decks on purpose all the time - AKA "submarine" move, the trick is to plow ahead and let the water drain through the scupper and it takes no time. Not to mention ratings of aerator pumps are terribly prone to drain elevation/hose diameter/length etc.

If you worry about other compartments removing the plugs is the way to go - to drain water quickly into the bilge (again, the bow attitude is the key). I've never heard of anyone having water swamp the head compartment, albeit it does not have a drain but there is a fair amount of coaming around it and if the lids/doors are closed there is no way water should be filling those compartments.
