@212s @aarons1k sorry quick question. Have you guys done any greasing of the intermediate bearing? It is insane to get to on our boats and so far no grease fitting has worked for me. I have been following @swatski who I believe advised to not grease them. I might pull the zerk and put some gear oil in there like he stated just wanted to see what you guys have been doing. It is my understanding the grease is just serving to lube the seal to prevent water intrusion. I'm at about 350 hr without any issue.
You do need to grease those, eventually. I'm not sure anyone can tell you exactly how much, and the service manual is not much help.... The collective thinking, as I see it, indicates it's best to proceed with moderation as too much may be worse than too little (leading to blown seals).

Haven't had to do it yet, but I figure spring prep I'm just going to add gear oil in the tube with a syringe to top it up. Don't want to risk pumping too much grease and blowing the seal.

I believe only the older and the newest models have that tube. Mine does not, I just have a zerk in the bearing housing, which is pretty difficult to reach (for non-gymnasts).

Aaron, I would love a copy of the manual! I have a 2006 sx210, I believe that will cover that model.

This is just FYI. Yamaha's site will get you to the Service Manual. Besides the cost of buying it outright you can pay for a subscription to use it for a short period of time. I got the two week period (two months ago) and screen shot the whole thing, page after page for my boat and then printed it. Was cumbersome but worth it. By the way, there is no "right click" available hence the screen shot method.
