Does anyone have experience with the FitBit Ionic Watch? I know we have a lot of techie people on this board. I’m considering getting this as an everyday wear watch including boat days. Just looking for feedback in advance. Thanks

Don't know much about that particular model, but I've had my eye on a Garmin Fenix 5 here recently. A little more money than I want to spend, but it does damn near everything but wash the boat for you, and it looks like a regular "watch" during your everyday wear scenarios. at about $550 for the Garmin, compared to the $300ish for the FitBit, I'm not sure they are direct competitors though.

I know several people in the office have FitBit products, and as a brand I've heard nothing but good things about customer support, quality of pieces, and overall satisfaction levels.

Thanks @2kwik4u I have also looked at the model Garmin also and the lower tier vivoactive 3. The 3 I would worry about boating and water so that is out of the picture for me since it says not suitable for high speed water activities. The price point of the Fénix 5 has me worried it’s a little high for me. Also the Ionic supposedly has a higher depth rating, but I find it hard to believe that it is rated for a true 50m but I can’t find many reviews of it either stating one way or the other.

I have a fenix 3 that i use everyday, Love it. It is a little pricy but it works great, i like to track my wakeboard and surf runs with it as well just for fun. Im thinking of upgrading to the 5x since my 3 doesnt have hr on it.

Yea, I definitely want one with the HR monitor built in. Been keeping tabs on eBay and Craigslist for a F3HR, but they are few and far between it seems. I'm a cyclist 3 seasons a year, and want to track some progress with that. Hadn't considered tracking my wakeskate runs with it, but thats a fine idea!

Curious what these do over the Apple Watch? I picked up a refurb Apple Watch 2 for $230 and I can't imagine anything the competition offers that this doesn't do.

Where'd you find that refurb Apple Watch and do they have more? :) I'm trying to compare the FitBit Ionic and a Apple Watch 2, as well. The FitBit says water proof up to 50 meters, I really can't find much on Apple's site about the 2. They only have the 3 and 1 listed. Is the 2 water proof, as well?
