So I've got a set of Solas Concord YF-CD impellers for my XR1800. I'm currently servicing my jet pumps, and swapping out my stock impellers while I have them all apart. The Greenhulk crowd seems to advocate ditching the nose cones that come with the Solas impellers, claiming that the skis run faster without them. Is the consensus the same with jet boats as well to ditch the nose cones?

from my memory I think that when swatski did all his surf testing he thought the lucky13 cones were worthwhile,

how much more speed are you looking for ? we've not seen any real modes that get you more than 1-2mph or better torque,

I think the Luck 13 cone goes on the back of the impeller where the grease is? I’m talking about the cone that comes with the Solas impellers that goes on the front side (see pictures in original post).

As far as speed, I’ll always take an increase where I can, especially if it’s free. No point in leaving it on the table.
