I agree.
I always wonder about those kinds of scenarios.
If my boat ever catches fire on the water, I'm not having anyone looking for an extinguisher - we get the f@ck out, quick.

That's also what I've been told, by people who've been doing this way longer than I.

I suspect the fire was intentional...many boats are abandoned or lit up when the owner no longer wants the burden

I guess it figures, also happens in the restaurant and construction industries...

The fire load and materials make those fires burn so hot and fast. They are nearly impossible to have under control even while at a marina. Even with their suppression systems they usually only cover mechanical rooms etc.
