Sound Mat Review

Any update on the Soundskins CCF?

I have a 2021 190SX that I just purchased and took out for the first time. Only complaint was really the engine noise. Really can't talk to a passenger or hear the factory sound system at all when driving at 20 mph or higher. I plan to attempt something with sound dampening. I would love to know what works and what is the best bang for the buck.

For music - better value will be better spent in a small 4 ch to give the factory speakers some power.

When you say invest in a small 4 ch are you suggesting a new head unit? Or an amp?

I actually plan to do both of some engine compartment sound deadening and would like to upgrade the sound system power

I have not had a chance to take it out yet.

My personal opinion, after having done all this, if your Insulation is new, and in good shape, it’s not worth changing…it’s a pain in the ass.

I do plan to update as soon as I take the boat out. I’m hoping it’s a big improvement…maybe that’ll change my mind?

If it’s degraded, or falling off, then I think this product is probably going to be good.

For budget friendly stereo upgrade - just get a 4ch micro amp.

I finally took the boat out since the Soundskins CCF install.
Much better…definitely an improvement.
I would say better than the factory foam.

That being said, It’s not worth replacing your factory foam if it’s in good shape. At the end of the day, it’s still a jet boat, so it’s not like it’s quiet (even after replacing it with Soundskins CCF).

I would recommend this product (Soundskins CCF) if your foam is deteriorating, and it’s better than the sound mat IMO.
