Change them warm engine or cold?

Are you worried about them seizing in the hole? Otherwise, it should not make any difference at all. Cold makes the most sense as the little suckers get damn hot to handle.

Yeah, I know some engines like warm vs cold etc.. Just looking to see what others are doing.

On plugs?

No, on Oil changes we warm the engine to get more of the oil out. But on spark plugs it makes no difference. You either burn your finger tips or you don't. Change them cold. There is no reason unless you have a stuck plug. Heat would loosen a plug if it were stuck. Give it a gentle spark plug socket and see if it comes free. If not, then try a little heat. Keep in mind to not fire the engine with any of the plugs removed

I basically ran the motor for a few minutes to warm up the oil. Changed the oil and did the plugs. Everything went smooth. No anti sieze on the plugs I took out that I could tell but I made sure I put some on the new ones.

I just did my plugs and oil today. Looks like they get a bit fouled after fogging the engine for the winter.

You bet it can. That's why many will run at least a half tank of the stabilized fuel before changing the plugs. As fogging oil is hopefully in the cylinders till (if you fogged them) That's an old two stroke habit for sure. I have a new set gapped and ready to go. But I will run a tank of fuel through it first, then swap them out.

I LOVE SPRING IN MINNESOTA!!!!

I was going to change my plugs today. As I had a full set and didn’t know the history of the installed plugs

I think these look fine to me. What are your thoughts?

I put it back in and will run them longer.

Well, I have to eat some crow today.

After winding what the point was about changing plugs that look just fine, I did mine this morning. Yesterday a raced a Four Winn’s and walked on it, but only pulled 44mph on GPS.

I swapped all plugs, properly gapped and immediately headed out for a few speed passes. Best I saw was 48mph. So let’s say the plugs may have squeezed 4mph out my 242. Who knew.
