Sportster engine cover

The underside foam covering is starting to fall apart and make a mess. Can it just be scrapped off and leave it like that or should something be put back on there?

I'm guessing that's there for sound dampening. You may not have heard a difference in noise if the foam has been degrading over a period of time, if you remove it all, the engine may be considerably louder. I came across a Seadoo only forum, maybe this will help?

Thanks, I will take a look. I'm not sure on the sound level between new and now as this boat is new to me.

Going back several years, my uncle had a 1996 SeaDoo Sportster, that was a fun and great little boat. You will enjoy yours.
