I know this has been discussed at length, but I have tried everything suggested. First a little back story. Installed 8 JL Audio MX650s and a IB6 Sub, with a M200/2 for the sub and an M800/8V2 for the others. Did this years ago, sounded great. Got stolen in the off season.

I replaced the amps with the newer XDM600/1 for the sub and XDM800/8 for the others, M6-10IB Sub. They left the 650s. All the sudden I have hum in all speakers. BT, USB, no blower, no engine on, just on the trailer debugging. I have 4ga from the battery for both power and ground, 2 separate bus bars in the helm. 4ga everything to both amps. I have 3 inline breakers, 150a a few inches from the battery, an 80a and 50a after the bus bars to the amp. I wired the Connext ground to the same bus bar. I had the amps tuned with a sine wave, but any gain over about 1 tick and the hum/fuzz is more easily heard.

Obviously the house and starter batteries are connected back there with the power switches, alternator, voltage check, etc. So its hard to eliminate much more because then the boat won't start.

I am doing everything I can to not get a ground loop isolator and fix the problem, but that's my next stop. Any help would be appreciated. My old lurker @Mainah...

Hmm. Strange. A couple of thoughts but nothing really jumps at me except that it sure sounds like a grounding issue (pun intended!):

- did you try grounding the case of the amps?
- I had a similar issue with my C4 Corvette. I tried everything including grounding the HU case and then finally added another ground wire to the case and added these coils.

It's still working 3 years later.

The case is just plastic so I’m not sure. Next thing to try is just house to amps and hook my phone up directly to an input. If that works, I’m buying a BT module and use my phone. Next owner can deal with it.

Makes sense. If there is a grounding issue it's more likely the HU anyway.

I was shocked that those coils worked in my case fwiw.

So I’ve quickly decided to install a Wet Sounds MC1 with a 2nd transom screen. Would anyone be able to tell me how I wire the batteries to be able to charge the house from the alternator? Is that just the negative bind between the 2 batts? I’ll have to disconnect the house positive from the switch and hook to the starter battery. Or wire Connext to the house. And is this just going to carry the ground loop over and problem not solved?
