I thought about getting these. Do you use 1 or 2. Assuming one, any issues with it holding? How far do you stick it in the sand?I have a Stick It Anchor Pin

That's awesome! I like the fact you don't have to walk over or trip on the anchor/line. Leaves the back of the boat rope-less. How long is it? Do you remember how much you paid for it and from where?View attachment 127747
I only use one on the stern and use my danforth off the bow. The wind direction dictates which side I put the pole on. I usually get it 4-5 feet down, I keep a rubber mallet on the boat to really get it in there. I’ve never had issues and we’ve had steady winds of 15-20 mph on certain days. Shoot, my buddy with a 24’ Parker ties up to it too when he can’t keep his stern from swinging off the sandbar.

Love the colors and graphics of your boat. Sharp! Thanks for sharing.
Second year boating and I just went through this decision making process last week. Where I’m at is mostly sand and I am not always at a beach/ sandbar, so I couldn’t do a spike, and ended up with a second Danforth after surveying the locals. I would’ve preferred a mushroom or river anchor from a safety point of view, but best I could tell it wouldn’t have worked well. My main one is a compact 8 pounder that is as big as fits in the locker, but I hope to make this my main anchor one day. Since I’m really concerned about someone stepping on it I got one PVC coated and a PVC coated chain. It is larger than my main anchor, but still 8 lbs. About as different as I could do is a slip ring, it won’t make a difference on the stern, but if I ever use it on the bow maybe I’ll see a payoff. (I also didn’t want to spend more than $150 for everything. )I’m sure there are threads on this but what is everyone using for their stern anchor for when they anchor close to sandbars and beaches
I use a FX7 for the bow and the stern. Super light and set quick.

It’s 8-9’ long, we store it in the ski locker while underway. I found it at Bass Pro, I think it was $90 or so.
Makes life so much easier at the sandbar.
