I was looking at these, but only saw them mounted with solid brackets And dismissed it because of wake and tidal conditions I have. I didn’t even think of attaching with a rope or strap. I assume you anchor in a sandy bottom Do you have tidal or wake to deal with and if so how does it handle it?
It comes with 2 lines to tie it off to your boat, one is 2-3’ and the other is 5-6’. The short line is what’s attached in my picture. Our bottom varies depending upon where you are, could be sand or muck. It gets a bit tougher to get it deep into the sand which is why I have the rubber mallet. Our tides are nothing major, maybe 6-8” at most and current is very slow way up in the river we are at. It handles wake great, never been pulled out.
I get locked in and sit back and watch everyone else drift off the sandbar, bang into each other, and deal with resetting their boats and anchors. It’s extremely convenient for what we do and where we are.
The bow fits in the anchor locker. I had to trim 1/2" off the stock. That was pretty easy with an angle grinder. The stern fits in my battery compartment. I keep all my lines and fire extinguisher in there so no real loss of space there.

Received the SandShark for my B-Day back in May and had my doubts, BUT.... This thing is amazing. Have used in several circumstances and not a single issue. Easy, compact and incredibly durable!

Looking at fortresses website you could get their guardian G7 and it should fit with no trimming at all. It's cheaper but doesn't have the adjustable angles like the fortress does. Also I don't think the finish is as well done. All in all I think it's a really good option for most here.
first use the roll pin came out and the head/handle came off of the shaft. replacing it with a bolt helped but honestly it doesnt stay anchored in the sand well enough to justify the price. i also have the small 18" jet ski anchor and use that for the stern now and it works better than the large one
I was having zero luck anchoring with the one that came with my boat. After looking through the posts on this site, bought a Mantus that was highly recommended here. Instant success every time with it. Now I use the OEM as my beach spike by manually burying on the beach. About all its good for.
