So I am in the market for a mirror.

I would like to know your thoughts on the pros and cons of a tower mounted mirror vs a windshield or something else mounted mirror.

Anyone try one and wished they went with another? Or liked what they got?

Cost is an obvious difference as tower mounted mirrors are more $. Are they worth it?

Our watersports consist of tubing right now but will advance to skiing, wakeboarding and surfing, so I want to prepare for those activities now.

As always...thanks!

Mike - Not really an answer to your question, but if you decide on a tower mounted I have one listed in the classified ads section, if you're interested. It doesn't work on the forward tower. You could have it for a good price - it's just sitting in a box in my office.

Here's a post from a while back about this topic with some reviews/pics, you might find it helpful.

I posted in there after purchasing a removable mirror from Monster Tower but hadn't used it at that point. After now using I'm super happy with the mirror. It's easy to remove and get out of the way, or just not put it up if you don't want it. It's super steady and doesn't move at all, it's really well made and was worth the money.

I got this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009PSA4O/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1#

It is BIG. No, really. Like almost too big. I can't put it on the starboard side of the boat--I can't see to drive. I found that it will go on the far port side, at the curve in the windshield. Works fine there for me, but your mileage may vary.

Can't speak to the alternatives much, but there is my experience.
