I just bought a 2010 sx210. As far as acceleration, I doesn’t do much between idle and 7000 rpm. Is that normal? It feels like I have to gun it to accelerate. Even then, it probably takes 30 seconds or more just to get to plane. This is with 700 lbs of people in the boat and not glass lake conditions, but should it be this bad? I did find and remove an obstruction, but it didn’t seem to make much difference. I’m just looking to rule out any obvious causes before paying the service department at my local dealer to take a look. Thanks in advance.

I usually full throttle to get on plane. Then cruise at 30-35mph at 7-7.5 k rpm. I am 2007 SX230. You should have a little better performance, I think.

At 6-7k, I cant get above 10-11MPH. There is something magical about 7500-8500 on my boat. Even then, I’ve only gotten up to 32MPH. The symptoms reek of the cavitation written in other threads, but I hesitate to shell out for new impellers until I’ve ruled out other possibilities. I would be sad if I replaced the impellers/wear rings and there was no improvement.

Ive had my 2012 since new. always had to nail it to get on plane, as with most boat that have a rising hull design, then cruse at 6 to 7 thousand and maybe get 38 mph at wot.
