Vacation...they have cabins that float that are perfectly good places to vacation! I thought you guys were coming and had two cabins reserved? We will miss ya'll!
I heard it would take 60-90 days for Texoma to get back down to conservation level. And that was with no additional rain.
At this point, the water level in August is not a huge concern - it will be down enough. The bigger question is what will be the condition of facilities at campsites and marinas. There is a lot of damage that can't be repaired until after the water gets back down to normal level
I am hearing forecasts of 8" of rain today/tomorrow for the Texoma area. That will have a pretty good impact of the lake level. It is not 24" of rain like before, but still.
Well, Buncomb Creek is all up on the hill. They are very proactive with the marina, but I haven't been up there. @Jebinok ??? Can you give us a report on overall condition? Will it be available to us?
A little info...I just called Buncomb Creek. The ramp is closed, but the marina and the campground is open, as is the rest of the resort. The lake is expected to again crest the spillway...UGH. But she thought that the lake level would fall by August to ramp open level of 633'. Here is current info...
The news said that "Norman" got 0.68" of rain. But, where I live, in far East Norman, I bet we got closer to 3". So, it really is going to vary depending on location.
I went down to the spillway at Murray when we were there a few weeks back...it wasn't far from the spillway then, probably a foot +/-. I saw a boat beached there and was surprised as I motored by, how shallow the water was way out from the spillway. He was in a prop and I was in a jet, and I moved farther out! Just about 100 yards east of the spillway at Murray was 100' deep water! How long does it take for Murray to settle out and turn blue again?
