Yup, sure sign of the scam is a boat being sold with out of state registration on the hull, and posted in multiple states across a large region.

There was an AR230 up this direction posted for $10,000, and they were answering email requests. Of course it was the pay up front and the boat is sitting with our shipper now type of scam. Those ads were posted in no less than 10 states. I'm not sure what they are fishing for other than stupid people. Who knows, maybe it is just kids having a good time at our expense.
 
Crazy thing is, I have ppl come into work all the time after getting scammed on these exact type of ads......They are basically beat
 
The other thing I've heard about these "ads" is that they do double duty as scams AND email harvesters (specifically the ones with no phone #, just an email reply - ran into a TON of these when we were looking at PWCs a few years back)
