This just makes me cringe - Careless boat owner inside

At least it’s an aluminum prop

Yikes! That lower unit looks in really bad shape. We all make stupid mistakes (I once pulled my sterndrive out of the water without tilting it up) but this one takes the cake.

A program call OBS Open Broadcaster software. Will allow you to record anything on your screen. then you can edit. Can be used for zoom conference calls you are not suppose to record.

I pulled out with my trim down once and shaved the skeg for about 50 yards before someone stopped me. It's a lesson all I/O owners learn at least 4x. But also, big middle finger to all the boat owners that saw this happen and didn't let the poor guy know he was about to hit the highway light that?

Don’t follow qualified Captain....

Should have bought a Jet Boat ?

Got a strong transom at least...

Once I forgot to "trailer up" and pulled the boat out of the water. I always trim up when docking anyway so when I walked back to put on the straps I saw it and trimmed all the way up. Didn't scratch the skeg at all. This guy didn't trim up at all and his skeg is completely gone and the prop is toast...should have heard the scraping sound at the ramp and then saw it was down when putting on the straps. Maybe a new boater who didn't know any better?

Entirely possible that he lost his trim pump or has a leak that let it slowly drop after he got it on the trailer. bummer!

I watched a guy load a sail boat on his trailer at Fort Desoto ramp and then drive off with the mast up until he reached the first tree, bang!
I also watched a guy back down the ramp too fast and drive his truck trailer and boat into the water, watched the wipers come on, the horn blow and the headlights go on as it sank deeper into the water.

As mentioned above how do you not hear this and when doing the walk around to strap the back of the boat you would see it. Of course I have made mistakes that are obvious afterwards as well!

I feel like this is the OBs equivalent of "sucking up a rope". something every owner does AT LEAST once. Guilty... of the rope anyway :p

I can't wait for another season of QC

I live it at our boat ramp lol. I said this jokingly then started seeing videos from our boat ramp.

LOL! I ran into some neighbors of mine at our ramp last summer. They were in lawn chairs and and I noticed them as we were pulling our boat out. I asked them what they were doing and they said "On busy days we like to come down and sip beers and watch the chaos.." LOLOL

Not a bad idea lol

Embarrassed to say I've dragged my lower unit up the ramp more than once.
