Last week I installed my Seadek on the swim platform, today I went to storage to take my snaps out of the cockpit area and fill the holes to get ready to install the rest of it. I pulled the cover up and saw the clean out hatch mat was halfway peeled up!

I was freaking out thinking I put it down too soon after cleaning with Acetone or something and really screwed up....then I touched the bottom of the mat and it wasn't even sticky at all. I forgot to peel the backing off of that side of the mat:-/ I don't know how I didn't see it the other day because that wasn't my last piece to put down, I guess static held it down good enough not to lift up. I left it for now because it was kinda cool today and raining, I'll clean it good again and stick it down when I do the rest of the boat Friday (hopefully).

Oh man, I'll bet for that moment you feared having to remove all the glue and start over. That's the kind of things that nightmares are made of ;)

i got onto a malibu 23lsv at our boat show and they were bragging about their seadek install until i stuck my fingers under a big spot and said you didn't do a very good job, they did the same as you and quickly scrambled to peel it off and get it all the way down lol

Hahahajahahahahahahahaha

I did the SAME thing. . . . . . on the interior mat the lays on the floor in front of the passenger seat. The old ticker Definitely skipped a beat.

Regardless, I am glad it was just a scare, and that it was easily fixed!

image.jpeg Managed to finish the rest of the boat today, went over each piece to make sure I didn't forget any backing again:-)
I didn't split the backing in half like I did with the swim deck pieces though so I couldn't have forgotten a half on these.
I messed up the alignment on the skinny piece beside the fuel hatch, no one would notice probably but it'll bother me so I'll probably order a new piece to redo it.

Hopefully it will dry out enough this weekend to get mine installed. I was only able to get the lower swim deck on before it started getting colder last faller.

I'm going to push HARD to hit the lake this weekend.

I barely got mine done today, I picked it up after lunch and went home to start it, it started sprinkling as I was sticking the last piece down. I threw the cover back on it and took it back to storage (covered) so it wouldn't get rained on. Of course it stopped sprinkling and sun came back out on the way to storage.

We will probably go early next week to Canyon Lake, from Wednesday to Saturday we are camping up close to Medina.
