Throttle Lever too Tight?

Was finally able to take out our new boat! Everything went really well for our first time trailering and driving a boat. I noticed the port side throttle lever pulls back about 500rpm or so when I let go of the control.

For example if I throttle up to 5000rpm with both levers the port side lever will physically move back towards neutral dropping the rpm by about 500. It seems like there is too much tension on the cables. I know Throttle Sync will fix this but is there an adjustment to release some tension?

Yes there is an adjustment tension screw under the binnacle housing.

Thank you. I have another question I will ask here instead of creating a new thread.

I installed Thrust Vectors and noticed the steering is heavy or stiff. I'm assuming this is normal but just want to double check. Also when installing the TV should the metal washer between the spring and allenhead spin freely or be tighten down? My spins because I was worried about over tighting.
 
@Slfmde I just bought a 2015 AR240. It came with throttle sync, but I still have the same issue with the starboard throttle. I have to disengage the throttle sync because the RPM difference when the levers are able to be connected is 800-1000 different.

Also, my steering is also very stiff. I'm getting used to it, but I am assuming this is normal for 2015 plus models. (Mine came with cobras, but I don't know if that changes anything as far as heavy steering).

I'm curious what others will say.

It sounds like you may just need to synchronize the cables. I may have to do that as well but my main issue is the actual lever not staying where I leave it.

 
That could be it. It's also noticeable with Perfect Pass too. I will try that adjustment. Thanks!
 
Its important to remember that fins are going to generate resistive force from the water causing the boat to turn.

This force will be felt through steering system unlike the nozzle which creates directional thrust. Because of this force on the fins, the faster the speed or the harder the turn, the more resistance (steering feedback) you will encounter.

To see if there is any real binding, I would see if there is any binding while the boat is stopped or out of the water altogether on level ground. There shouldn't be much, if any, while stationary.
