I made this tool about 50 years ago my sophomore year in metal shop. Haven’t used it for 35-40 years. Since it’s so cold out I decided to make a few desk top clocks for gifts and though that this tool would be helpful. Dusted it off, mounted it, oiled it, put in a new blade and fired it up.
Vibrates a little and for sure not the safest tool I have but it will do the job and it’s fun that it still works.7298D012-8F66-43A0-8697-ECA395E0310A.jpegA6ED2044-34C0-45F0-8F91-045E5CA54406.jpeg

OK, I'm not a woodworker, so bear with me.......Man that's cool........what is it?

Best I can tell the blade moves up/down and you can cut intricate shapes with it? Scroll saw maybe?

Pretty awesome it still runs after all that time.

Yes, it is a scroll saw, small blade reciprocates, up/down, for very intricate cutting. Will have to do some practice cuts, very easy to make small mistakes as well!

That is pretty good for a high school project!
