Sorry for the crappy video, I have a new DVR on order, this cheap one sucks.
This is a common place for cars to pull up next to you and race around you before their lane ends. Not sure if he wanted to play or not but he gave me the "rev" sign that is was ON.
Sure, he technically won but if he couldn't get in front of me, it's a WIN for Tundra in my book....he had me by less than 1/2 car when he let off.
I had to cut the audio at the end, my Evil Laugh was loud. Love the sound of my exhaust, Wish I would have opened my back window.
Good times. I think I hit about 75 in a 55 at the end...(oops)
Yes, I know...street racing bad...I could not help this.

Nowadays you don't need a sports car to be able to haul the mail!

Well done. What cams and DVR are you using? Great tool to aid in proving who did what if ever needed.

The tundra will surprise some folks. You've gotta know the "secret" to turning off all the electronic nannies.

Toyota also has a TRD supercharger available for it that will really make a sleeper. Full factory warranty as long as a dealer installs it....about 6K installed. When I get bored with this truck, I have a feeling that will be a cheaper option than a new truck.

The one I have is terrible....the quality you see isn't dumbed down for youtube at all, That's as good as it gets. I'm looking for a new one. This one has started freezing the video for some reason.

I'm looking at these 2 options. I like the remote lens looking out the back so I'm trying to keep that feature.

This one is highly rated but expensive:

A member on the tundra forum has this one and the video looks awesome. I might just get 2 of them... one for the front and one for the back. MUCH cheaper.

Scratch that....reviews say they have heat issues....Black truck + Florida sun, better not risk this.

Been there, done that, had a turbocharged mustang. Got T boned, got pissed, got it outta my system.
Only time I street race anymore is when I have a camper behind my truck. If I beat you, I'm gonna laugh at you for a LONG time!
Just a plain old 5.4 3v Ford F150 Extended cab 4x4 but you'd be surprised that with just a filter I can beat a lot of older sports cars. I mean, cmon, trucks are equipped with 300+ hp and older "sports" cars are a lot less than that.

I got this out of my system too...for two reasons. First, I was racing a Triumph TR-6 with my Mazda RX-2 four door. The race was a 5 mile run through some s turns and ended with a wide sweeping curve onto another highway. I know they say these things don't happen unless drinking is involved...no comment. He beat me by a nose in the 1/4 which surprised us both...but I beat him in the race by default really. Doing 120mph plus, around that sweeping turn, my rubber started to lose its grip and he was neck and neck in the turn on the outside! He backed off and I crossed the line first. The only time I ever hugged a guy that wasn't a relative.

Second time I did exactly what you guys did on a road that was divided and narrowed to 2 lane. I was late getting my kiddo to the airport for his trip to see his GM. I was hauling the mail. This guy decided to try to run me and he had been driving much slower than I had when I came to the light. When I turned I nailed it because I didn't want any conflict. I got plenty, he pulled a gun! I had to lose him while I was calling 911. Who do you suppose he worked for?

Anyway, no more exhibition speed for me!

Pussy in the 'Vette clearly does not know how to drive.
My thoughts exactly. And it's probably an automatic.

I get challenged ALOT. Almost every time a sports car, hot rod or a kid with a WRX pulls up next to a sport bike at a light - they thinks it on. So I smile, let them take off first, then ride a nice long wheelie past them. :p

Been there done that with bikes. Then wiped out and couldn't walk for a full month. Won't ride a bike again. I'm dedicated to enjoying my speed on the water.

Coming home one night after being decided to open it up a little... had a Cutlass Calais with a quad 4, 5 speed. Just as I hit 3rd, going through town at night... and I thought no one was around...a cop comes out no where. I pull over and be asks what in the heck I was thinking. I said I was just trying to get home to watch the Orange Bowl. Wrote for doing 90 in a 35, wasn't pretty!

It was definitely a standard which makes it even harder for him to manage if he doesn't know what he's doing. He could have thrown it in neutral to rev it while sitting but I don't think so....sounds like he gets on the clutch before he fully gets off the gas when he gives up...(great for his clutch)

I'm in no way insinuating my nearly 3 ton tundra is quicker than a corvette, just that he wasn't expecting that and by the time he realized it wouldn't be so easy, he ran out of room/nerve.

Was that on 98 across from Office Depot area?
Same thing happened to me coming home from Navarre yesterday, an Explorer thought he was going to zoom ahead of me easily and swerve over, it didn't happen for him....oh yeah, I was pulling my camper:)

My wife was sleeping, she opened one eye and said "what was that all about?"

That's funny you schooled a corvette in your truck. But I gotta ask, do you always ride around with GoPros mounted in both directions in your truck?? Or did you hit record when you saw the sucker coming?

LOL, awesome....Even better when towing. Yeah, this was the intersection at sonnys across from office depot.

Not go pros....It's a Vehicle DVR with a remote lens for the rear. It's always recording when the engine is running and loops about 8 hours of driving....set it and forget it. People drive horribly here so it's nice to have proof if anything should happen. (yeah, I know that sounds hypocritical since I was the irresponsible one racing)

I almost forgot about the camera, I was just going to tell the story and then remembered I could pull the footage.

Since my quality isn't very good and the video is freezing up on this one, I have a new one on order. It doesn't have a rear lens but if it works well, I'll just get another one for the back window.

It looks like a late 80s or early 90s c4 corvette... lots of newer trucks could take them... I have a 2002 c5 z06... even though it's 13 years old, there aren't very many vehicles today that are quicker.

I just read that a c5 could do 0 to 60 in 5 seconds and the new c7s in 3. Im guessing a c5 zo6 could do it in a little over 4. Wow.

I like the dash cams @Big Shasta and am tempted to buy two for my new, too me, car but I'm afraid of the footage being used as evidence against me somehow.

@Big Shasta I have been challenged to a grudge match...1/4 mile...by my neighbor who has a 08 Tundra Limited with the 5.7 engine. I have a 14 RAM 1500 with the 5.7Hemi. Race will be at a local drag strip on March 1st. He says it will be open to anyone to run grudge matches. Should be fun! Have not done this kind of thing in over 30 years. Will let you know the results. He will probably win since he is a gear head and done a couple mods to his truck and mine is stock.
