Tow / Flush Valves installed FSH 252

Finally got the Bs to do it ... as you can see in pics .. 1/2 inch ball valves with 1/2 x 5/8 barb fittings teflon tape , and seal lock sealant hose clamps smeared with 4200 and tightened down . valve bodies rest in a slit open pool noodle shell for protection and zip ties enclosed along with spiral zip ties acting as locks to keep valve from closing they are tensioned just enough to slide over handles to access the closed position . and re lock when opening .

Only thing I would monitor for is that the pool noodles don't melt to the waterbox.

I put valves like this in, um... more than a decade ago. I think I used them once. Still, happy I did it. Not sure what valves you used, but mine have no need of being kept from closing. The challenge is to get them to close when they haven't been exercised in a while.

I just finished installing a pair of isolation valves between the pumps and where the fresh water flush connects to the cooling lines.
The main reason I did this was so I could flush both engines at the same time. The hose I use to flush the engines did not have enough flow to flush both engines because of the amount of water that just runs out of the pump. When closed these valves eliminate the reverse flow out the pump. After flushing, opening the valves allows the engines to drain back through the pump.
A second benefit is the ability to flush the engines while still in the water...

@yam240sx Thanks for sharing. Since you upgraded from the 240, just wondering how much “deeper” the reach is into the bilge to do the work on the newer 25ft hulls.

awesome ingenuity ... just keep an eye on that clear hose not sure what psi they are rated for

I used brass ball valves rated for WOG 600 psi ...
