It's winter. It's snowing. I sold my 242 and I'm going stir crazy. I'm super close to inking a deal on a 2015 Worldcat 230SD, which is a horrible $95,000 decision on my part. But holy shit would it be fun.

Now, I'm also trying to sell my Porsche. My wife also wants a lake house. I would rather have a houseboat. We both want more nights on the lake this year. Buying the Cat ruins any thought of that.

So, I've decided to try to trade my speedster for an earlier Yammy. SX230 would be ideal, SX210 would be good too. AR's of either variety is fine, I just really have no use for a speaker tower and I want dual captains chairs. I'd certainly be willing to add cash for a newer boat, but nothing crazy. The point of this is to not have to borrow any money. Up to maybe 10K on top for something with 1.8's. Ideally, it'd be an even swap.

Porsche is a 1957 Speedster replica (VS kit). Based on a 68 beetle chassis (ball joints, swing axle, 4-lug). Has disc brakes up front. Lowered a bit. 1776cc engine, freeway flyer trans. 5200 miles on the complete build. Show winner, needs nothing. Best highway cruising aircooled I've ever driven (and that says ALOT). I've taken her 4 hours through the mountains of Georgia before and it was just an amazing experience. I'm only looking to sell as I also have my 74 VW Thing, which I've essentially completely rebuilt myself, so it means much more to me. And, it makes 0 sense at all having both of these in the garage along with boats and jet skis and such. There are only so many weekends in a summer, and only so much you can do with them.

So, longshot I know, but figured I'd throw it out there! So, help me save $95,000 and tell your friends!

That is an amazing Speedster Replica. She looks so perfect and real. I hope @Rana does not see this or we could be missing a boat.

It looks like you have been hanging out with some PCA people have you run an ad in their newsletter?

Bruce, Your lucky I love the ocean more... The speedster is gorgeous!

I haven't @Bruce . If I was more motivated to sell, maybe, really just been toying around. Costs me nothing to keep her, and I do love her. If she sold, I'm not sure I have the self control to not put the money down on the cat. I'd regret that decision every lake day this summer when we were out on our jet skis and the boat sat. I'd also regret that on days we were entertaining with the boat and knowing a 25K boat could do the same thing on the lake (and more in some instances) without having a monthly payment. But boy would I not regret that decision in the slightest en route to Bimini! And I'm sure I'd make more runs to the coast if I had the cat. Alot of variables to weigh, but if a trade fell in my lap it would sure make it easy.

That Cat would have handled last years Bimini crossing better than our Yamahas. But in Andy's experience that kind of crossing happens 25% of the time. Despite the fact that the Cat would soften the ride getting there I would much rather hang out on a spacious and accessible Yamaha once you are there.

So what's a reasonable value of the Porsche? PM me if you want to keep it private.

Oh, no worries @Murf'n'surf ! I thought I put it up there, but apparently not. I originally listed her for 24K, but have dropped the price to $22,500. Kinda hard to gauge real value, this is a truly a "what someone will pay" appraisal. I've been offered 18-19K more times than I can count. Realistically, I'd take 20. Found about 8 different SX/AR230's and a 232 Limited on boat trader today all easily bought sub-20K today incase a cash sale did present itself. I'm really leaning more and more towards this option opposed to the cat.

Also caught myself looking at all the available leftover '15 240's and there's some deals to be had there too...

I agree on the valuation. If it had been built by Porsche it could easily sell for five times that. It is a rare opportunity to be able to buy a 356 or even such a nice replica.

This was a friend of ours garage a decade ago.

Looks like those weren't your friends only toys either. Those blocks stacked up there sure do look like they belong to a 911. As if 2 356's weren't enough to be jealous of...

They had moved to Arkansas after a racing career in California. He made and still makes models for Seinfeld. I believe that Seinfeld purchased one of the 356s. They would buy a nice Porsche every few years, clean it up even more, win a few awards and sell it on as a concours ready car. They are back in California now. I posted pictures of your 356 on their Facebook profiles to see if any of their friends are interested.

Hmm.....my 2005 sx230, signed Lemieux jersey and stick, signed Jagr jersey and stick for your Porsche?

It's tempting!

Oh boy, now you're speakin my language Murf!

Except I know you still haven't changed your scupper! tsk, tsk...

Ahh crap. I'm busted!

You had to post the picture of the boat ugh. I know I will see it this weekend at the Charleston show I'm praying I don't pull the trigger. I live on the coast and would get a ton of use out of it but in the same choke on the price. @Bruce you have to see this boat in person it has more space and as much seating as the Yamaha. It is basically a deck boat lay out on a catamaran. seating is very similar to the old AR240/230 it has the L shaped bench in the back and similar front seating to the Yamaha boats just bigger. attached is the spec sheet If it was under $70,000 I would be all over it but the last one I saw at a show I fell in love with but they wanted $90k. This is truly my ideal boat I'm waiting for them to start hitting the market used in a few years and I'm def getting one.
